Add to basket8vo. 6 x 9.2 in. [32 pp (unpaginated).] With woodcut borders on title, woodcut engravings throughout by A.R. Hunt. Illustrated softcovers, Art Deco cover art by Nat Levy (1896-1984), famed San Francisco water colour artist who studied with Maynard Dicson, Harold Von Schmidt, Armen Hansen, and was an early member of the Society of Western Artists (minor shelfwear, minor soiling back cover), still VG copy. First edition, thus, surprisingly uncommon catalogue and promotional history for Zellerbach papers marketed to printers and advertisers, even including an advertisement for their toilet paper. This piece details the logging of the spruce, cooking the wood chips, preparing the wood pulp, paper making, drying, cutting, and shipping out the paper. Anthony Zellerbach (1832-1911), a Jewish-American immigrant founded the company originally in 1882 in San Francisco, with his son Jacob, and later brought onboard Isadore, and by 1907 was dominant on the West Coast with paper mills factories, and invented folded paper towels, window envelopes, cardboard egg cartons. Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. As all international surface mail has been eliminated from the U.S. as of Jan. 27, 2013, all overseas orders will be subject to 60% increased rates. Sets, and other heavy books which are ordered will be requested to include increased shipping costs, if these are not forthcoming immediately, the order will be cancelled. Additional costs will be charged to the purchaser at exactly the postage required to ship if over the quoted amount.
