About this Item
This first edition [last page has the Appleton (1) on it] is in very fine condition. The book is square, with no corner bumps or edge dings; head and heel of the spine are lightly bumped without fabric damage. Rear board has a 1/2" strip where some residue of food (?) was attached; spine and front panel are undamaged, though the applique has a thin scratch along its entire width (see photo). The interior is completely free of writing, stray marks and page damage; pages 246-260 have small, non-intrusive stains in the fore corners. Moreover, the FFEP has been removed--and not very neatly (see photo). Paper is lightly toned and very flexible; hinges are strong and not damaged in any way; the frontis + 3 by Norman Rockwell are all intact. Seller Inventory # BMR-2019-12-4-3
