Illustrated boards with teal backstrip, lt. rubbing to bottom edge. Dust jacket is good with wear at spine, a few very small losses and slightly age-toned. Interior of book is clean and crisp. First issue point met. A wonderful book of definitions as a child might imagine; blissful b&w drawings by Sendak pepper every page. First issue is uncommon and this is a nice example. Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Dust Jacket Condition: Poor Jacket. Sendak, Maurice (illustrator). Unpaginated. Price of $1.50 at top tip of front flap is present. Page 23 says "Grr-r-r". Spine is cocked and shaken. Tips and spine ends are bumped and rubbed. Lower edge of both boards are rubbed. Boards have light stains. Edges of text block are dust stained. Fore edge of text block has a couple of stains. Front panel of jacket has a large diagonal tear splitting the jacket in two. Edges of jacket have chips, tears, creases, and pieces missing.
