18mo, pp 180, with woodcut frontispiece and woodengravings in the text, title page within woodcut border, pages somewhat loose in original Dutch floral boards, worn and repaired to the spine with early hessian overlay, FIRST EDITION, LACKING PAGES 37/38, 39/40, 59/60, 61/62, 85/86, 97/98, [6 leaves in all]. The Holiday Present is a rare Kilner title, especially in its first issue with only Bow Lane in the imprint,and having 108 numbered pages. Given that 6 leaves are missing in this copy, it can hardly be described as 'acceptable' and yet with each year that passes fewer and fewer early Kilner titles come on the market, fewer still examples that are complete. This one at least retains its original boards, as well most of its delightfully naive original woodcut illustrations. Seller Inventory # 29312
