Large folio. pp. frontispiece, [1144 un-numbered]; 9 further full page plates, one repaired to blank margins. Contemporary full calf, heavily restored in 1909 [note to verso of frontispiece] by F.R. Webb. Frontispiece and final leaf with marginal repairs. The second [first illustrated] edition of Baskerville's mighty printing tour de force which was issued in parts over a three year period. This copy bears the first state title page for the Old Testament dated 1769. F.R. Webb was a preacher from Nottingham, his [unrecorded] pamphlet "Street-corner Preaching" 1886, with his signature, is tipped in at the First Epistle of Paul the Apostle to Timothy and inscribed "The only copy left, not to be taken from this Bible." plates at Frontispiece, B2, H2, Pp1, 3u, 4B, 10Z, 11G, 11G, 11M.
