VG. An Aria production. Printed in Czechoslovakia. Copyright 1962. No numbers signifying printings, so it's the first.This is one of the more scarce double pop-ups. There are four pop-up pages and then you flip the book for the second story and four more pop-ups. An early example of Kubasta's fairy tale pop-ups. Covers have light bumps at corners. They are clean but for a gift inscription on the Jack cover. Spine is intact. Internally there are two gray silk threads binding the pages. These are intact. There are 8 pop-up scenes and 4 of these also have a movable element, for example, the goose lays a golden egg. This is true of the cover also - pull the tab and the scene in the window changes. The same tab is used to change the back of the first scene. There are four more that move. The pop-ups and the movables are in excellent working condition. Amazingly detailed workmanship throughout.
