Item description from seller

This book is in Very Good condition and is lacking a dust jacket. The book and its contents are in generally clean condition. There is some light bumping and rubbing to the spine ends and corners of the book covers. There are several edge nicks / beginning tears to the spine ends of the book covers. The text pages are clean and bright. Both front and rear endpapers have noticeable generalized toning. "Author Frederick R. Bechdolt was born in Pennsylvania, and attended the universities of North Dakota and Washington. He worked on odd jobs in the west for several years, including gold mining in Alaska, driving sled dogs, and helping drill the Cascade tunnel, before becoming a journalist in California. He later wrote fiction and non-fiction with western themes and settings, including novels, stories, fact-based collections of tales, and articles. He settled in Carmel, California, where he was active in the community, and became known as one of the Carmel bunch." (from SNAC).
