Heavy black buckram quarter-bound to spine over tan paper on boards. Pasted on full color illustration on front in Fine condition with sharp corners. Book overall is tight, square and relatively sharp-cornered with no markings or flaws inside or out, other than prior owners name and date in pencil on fly-leaf. Small crack in rear of binding inside back cover. 17 color illustrations and probably 300 b&w's by the author, mostly drawn from 19th century Harper's Magazine. Stated as First Edition and First Printing with"B-X" on copyright page. 9 x 11, approx. 500 pages (unpaginated). Without DJ, covered in archival quality mylar. Seller Inventory # blb03718
