Item description from seller

Hawthorn, Hudson, 1988. Large quarto, xii, 227 pages with hundreds of black and white illustrations and 46 colour plates. Papered boards slightly rubbed; a near-fine copy with the near-fine dustwrapper. 'Hugh Ramsay's death in 1906 at the age of twenty-eight prematurely robbed Australia of one of her most gifted artists. This intimate biography is based largely on Ramsay's own letters, which he illustrated with entertaining sketches' (dustwrapper blurb).
