First US edition; 1st printing with graphs photos and an extensive Index; 138 unmarked pages in excellent shape with a black dot remainder marker at top edge. Bright near fine unclipped dustjacket. Human Navigation and the Sixth Sense, published in 1981. An influential book by British zoologist R. Robin Baker on systems, and a debated magnetic "sixth sense". Baker argued that humans possess a subconscious magnetic sense (magnetoception) that uses Earth's magnetic field to help maintain orientation, similar to birds and bees. His experiments suggested that humans can maintain directional awareness without visual cues, though the findings faced scientific debate over the years.
