About the Author

Idella Bodie has been writing books for young readers since 1971 and she has established a loyal, growing audience. A native of Ridge Spring, S.C., Mrs. Bodie attended Mars Hill Junior College, Columbia College and the University of South Carolina. She lives in Aiken, S.C., with her husband and she has four children and a number of grandchildren. She retired in 1985 after 31 years of teaching high school English and creative writing. Her last position was as chairman of the English Department at South Aiken High School.
