Colour frontispiece; 16 monochrome plates; a few illustrations as tail pieces. Errata slip at front. List of subscribers at rear. Dust jacket worn, especially along edges; with several tears and minor loss at head and tail of spine; repaired with tape on inner face; spine discoloured; protected in removable plastic sleeve. Boards with large pale marks on front and rear; light edgewear. Endpapers lightly toned; previous owner's name and bookseller's pencil annotations on front free endpaper. Some foxing and other marks to half title page and a couple of pages at rear; otherwise mostly clean with just a few spots. Binding firm.
