Original pale blue card wrappers, wire-stitched as issued, front cover lettered in blue. With 12 half-tone plates. A very good copy of this scarce work. First edition, first printing, of this illustrated study by the curator of the Museum of Arab Art, Cairo. Hassan's was the first attempt to "relate representations of hunting scenes to their practical and social functions" (Hillenbrand, p. 229). With the exception of one, all the artefacts captured in the photographic half-tones are drawn from the collections under the author's care at the Cairo museum.
