140+[3 ad] pages with diagrams and tables. Octavo (8" x 5 3/4") bound in original publisher's pictorial wrappers. (Bibliotheca Van der Linde-Niemeijeriana: 5820) First edition. Fifteren contestants vied for the title in Bucharest, Romania for the second edition of this International Tournament. Zdravko A Milev of Bulgaria took top prize two points ahead of second place finisher László Szabó of Hungary with a score of 11. A two way tie took third between Tibor Florian and Octavio Troianescu each with 8.5. Wolfgang Pietzsch shared fifth with Gheorghe Gica Alexandrescu a half point behind them. Sole seventh with 7 points was Jozsef Pogats. Eighth through tenth was equal with Emil Stefanov Karastoichev, Emanoil Reicher and Imre Molnar all with a score of 6.5. Condition: Corners bumped, edge wear, spine beginning to separate from text block else about very good.
