Octavo (9.75 inches). 8 & 9 George V, Chapter 26 (Statutes of Canada). Caption title, 3 pages. Royal coat of arms. Neatly extracted from a bound volume and expertly mended. Edges slightly toned, and lightly rippled along the lower edge. This Act amended the Indian Act legislation to allow the Superintendent-General to lease out uncultivated reserve lands (without formal surrender) to non-Natives if the new lease-holder used it for farming or pasture. As well, Native men (along with their wives and children) could become voluntarily enfranchised if they lived away from their communities. Seller Inventory # 075
