In-depth study of Ibsen's dramatic technique, addressing Ibsen's method of composition, settings and stage directions, plot and action, the exposition, the ending, etc; b&w plate illustrations; Alan George Davis' copy, with gift-inscription from John Byron; Davis was an Anglo-Australian actor, and director for film, theatre, and television; the book was presented to Davis by the cast of a 1948 production of Maxwell Anderson's 'Winterset' at Bristol Old Vic, the production being directed by Davis; the inscription reads "For Allan D. with special thanks from John B. Winterset Theatre Royal Bristol 1948"; mild foxing, o.w. Very Good throughout; dustwrapper rubbed and lightly edgeworn, tanned to spine, strip tape repair to reverse side. Good. 135pp. 8vo. Very Good.
