Fine unread condition dark blue boards with white spine lettering contained in a very good condition color illustrated dust jacket. Includes List of Other Books by Norman Vincent Peale; Author Dedication; A Special Note to the Reader; Preliminary Page Quote from Joel 2:28 and Introduction. "The concept that changed Norman Vincent Peale's life can change yours, too. The concept is a form of mental activity called imaging. It consists of picturing vividly in your conscious mind a desired goal or objective and holding that image until it sinks into your unconscious mind, where it releases great untapped energies. It works best when it is combined with strong religious faith, backed by prayer and the seemingly illogical technique of giving thanks for benefits before they are received. When the imaging concept is applied steadily and systematically, it solves problems, strengthens personalities, improves health, and greatly enhances the chances for success in any kind of endeavor." - from the rear outer jacket. "Today Norman Vincent Peale is a successful, dynamic speaker, galvanizing audiences with his words. Once he was afraid to raise his hand in school. Now he pastors a large New York congregation. Once he was terrified to recite before company in his home. What enabled him to overcome his painful shyness and begin a whole new way of life? Imaging. Following the advice of a college professor, Dr. Peale asked the Lord to change him, to help him see himself in a more positive light. Once he began to see himself differently, he realized that "an image vividly conceived and stubbornly held has a reality of its own." Imaging is positive thinking carried one step further. In imaging, one does not merely think about a hoped-for goal; one "sees' - or visualizes - it with tremendous intensity, reinforced by prayer. Constantly seeing the desired goal before you release the enormous problem-solving potential built into us all. The negative emotions that once blocked that potential are replaced by positive ones, leaving an open pathway to success. Through Imaging, you will learn how to solve your money problems, outwit worry, banish loneliness and tension, improve your marriage and your health, deepen your faith, and relate to others more successfully. Discover the power available to you through Imaging. "You CAN take control of your problems. You CAN command your life. This book about imaging is designed to help you do it - and it will!" - from the inner front and rear jacket flaps.…

Store description
Vero Beach Books is an antiquarian bookseller with a constantly updated inventory of rare out-of-print books, signed books, children's books, plus a large inventory of ephemeral items such as major U.S. city newspapers going back 100 years and more, golden and silver age fine condition comic books (soon to be added), and many other ephemeral items as well as much more recent popular volumes. We have been in business for 25 years, originally known as Emerson Books (named after one of our owner's favorite authors, to wit, Ralph Waldo Emerson) located back then in Westport, Connecticut. That said, we are here to serve you, to offer you fine quality items that are conservatively described so that you will always be pleasantly surprised and delighted with your purchase. Twenty-five years in the bookselling business has borne out our stellar service oriented reputation; the only difference is that now we are located in the almost always sunny and warm climate of Vero Beach, Florida. Again, we are here to serve you and, as was the case when we were previously known on ABEBooks.com as Emerson Books, we will continue to offer our very popular 100% free search service for those hard to find books rare and out of print books. Oftentimes we are also able to obtain these rare finds at very good discounts to our customers' so it is always worth contacting us in such cases!
