Very good plus, first edition book in very good dust jacket. Red cloth covered boards. Front panel has black-stamped lettering and small black stamped birds toward the upper edge and a black stamped heart in the lower front corner; spine has black lettering and one small black stamped bird. Boards are clean, lettering is crisp. Minimal crimping along edges at head and tail of board spine. Age-toning and light foxing to external edges. Shadow transfers on endpapers. Text pages are age-toned else internally clean. Text block is snug. Dust jacket is soiled overall but charming front panel illustration is still very evident. Head of jacket spine has loss of 5/8" by up to 1/2" on the front corner; back corner has a 7/8" closed vertical tear with an adjacent 1/4" closed horizontal tear. Upper left corner on back jacket panel has a 1 1/8" slightly diagonal closed tear. Lower edge at tail of jacket spine is rubbed and with small chips and minimal loss on front and back corners. All fore-edge corners are rubbed and with loss of less than 1/8". Fore-edge folds are creased and scuffed but not rubbed through. All inside flap corners have uniform clips. Price of $2.00 is intact.
