Individuals is one of Strawson's best-known and well-regarded books. The first half of the book is concerned with what Strawson describes as descriptive metaphysics, and consists of an investigation of how our thoughts and words connect with the world. The second half focuses upon developing a theory of the subject-predicate distinction. The first half of the book has been especially influential, and continues to be widely read and discussed. A presentable copy of Strawson's second book, one of the high spots of 20th century philosophy. A name stamp on the front pastedown and a touch of foxing to the textblock; jacket has a faint dampspot to its spine panel.
