Inspired Design. The 100 Most Important Interior Designers of the Past 100 Years

Who are the 100 interior designers everybody needs to know? Who changed how we live? Who will never be forgotten? For the first time, here is the whole story of interior decorating in one book -- all the greats and what can be learned from them.

“. . . an exhaustive survey of every major decorator of the past century and an essential for every aficionado’s library.” —Veranda
Most decorating books focus on one designer; the rest focus on one period, one trend, one room. This book, for the first time, has the big picture: ALL the names everybody must know from the entire 100-year history of interior design, including:

• The Big Six
• A Century of Women
• The Influencers
• The Americans
• The English Masters
• The Globalists
• The Grandees
• and more

Each designer is profiled and illustrated with three to four photographs of their best work; what we can learn from them—and how they changed decorating forever—is clearly highlighted to catch the eye.

Any list of 100 interior designers is personal. Agree or disagree. Love it or challenge it. But Inspired Design is the starting point for everybody who loved interior design -- and the one book every design library must have.

“This might be the most coveted list of all in the world of interior design. Here, at last, are the one hundred designers everyone who loves design needs to know--and who continue to inspire.” —Milieu
