About this Item
A first edition copy of this very scarce work by the prolific author Louis Tracy, about a fictional invasion of Britain. The first edition of this work in the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Louis Tracy (1863 1928) was a British writer and journalist, who mostly wrote mystery, adventure and romance fiction. He used the pseudonyms Gordon Holmes and Robert Fraser. This is a very scarce work illustrated by Lawson Wood (1878-1957). In this work, disguised French and German troops attempt to seize Liverpool. 16 pages of publisher's advertisements to the rear. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding. Externally, fairly smart, with a little shelf wear to the extremities and a couple of faint marks to the spine. Rear hinge is strained but held reasonably firmly. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with just the odd spot to the first and last few pages, and to the fore edge, affecting the occasional page. Very Good. Seller Inventory # 873M15
