8vo. Green cloth with gilt lettering. xxviii, 583pp. Illustrations, maps (1 large foldout in rear pocket), map front endpaper. Very good. Spine faintly tanned and endpapers as usual a bit age toned, else tight and internally nice; map is complete and attractive, with numerous archival mends on verso. A tight, quite attractive first edition of this state guide from the noted "American Guide Series" that was (to cite title page) "Compiled and Written by the Federal Writers' Project of the Works Progress Administration." Former Wisconsin convent copy, with faint spine call number and name/address inkstamp on front flyleaf, half-title and title page.
