First Edition [1991], so stated. Very Good+ to Near Fine in Very Good DJ: The Book shows indications of careful use: light shelving wear along the bottom edge of the boards; the binding remains square and perfectly secure; the text is clean. Free of any ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, plates, or labels. A handsome, nearly-new copy, showing a single, very minor flaw. The DJ shows a bit of scuffing at the upper front panel, where a sticker has been removed; there is a small crack in the paper at the middle of the front hinge; the price has been covered with a not-unattractive distributor's sticker price at the lower inside front flap; else only mild rubbing. Overall, remains structurally sound and tightly bound, showing barely a hint of wear in a handsome, if imperfect, DJ: remains clean, sturdy, and quite presentable. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 4to. (11.1 x 8.9 x 0.75 inches). 144 pages. Profusely illustrated in color and black & white. Language: English. Weight: 1 pound, 15 ounces. Hobby Craft Series. Hardback with DJ. …

This book contains twenty-four original hand-knitted designs which reflect Ireland's artistic and cultural heritage. The inspiration for the garments originates from a variety of rich sources, such as the Tara Brooch, the Book of Kells, lace making, an old school sampler and the Galway Races.
The designs include garments for men, women and children, and even a bedspread created from a nineteenth century pattern. They range from easy to knit to the more demanding and use a variety of yarns to suit every season or occasion. Each design has a short historical introduction, comprehensive knitting instructions, colour photographs of the garment, line illustrations, colour charts and the inspirational source behind each pattern.
