Five years later he introduced the first "Home Rule" Bill. Here are his arguments in favor of the [defeated] law. This is a Near Fine copy of the first English Edition [also published in America, with its large Irish diaspora]. In a lovely binding, with mottled paper-covered boards; spine and tips of mottled leather; ruling and titling on the spine in gilt. Clean text; 58 pages; light spotting/browning to the page ends [really the only defect]. This book has an intersting ASSOCIATION, with the armorial bookplate of Samuel Ashton Thompso [later Yates] on the front paste-down. Yates (1843-1903) was a member of a prominent and wealthy slaveholding family in Liverpool. First English Edition. Quarter-Bound. Near Fine/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7�" - 9�" tall.
