First edition, first printing. 8vo; 256pp; lime green buckram over board, black stamped lettering on spine with a vignette of a running horse; top edge stained red; pictorial title page; b&w illustrations throughout; light shelf rub to head and tail of spine else fine; unclipped color pictorial dust jacket, rubbing and chipping to edges, light creasing; fine in very good minus dj. One of Walter Farley's (1915-1989) horse story books, this title being the eleventh. In all, there are 21 Black Stallion and Island Stallion books. His son, Steven, continued the horse stories after his father's death.
