large octavo ca. 7.5" x 9.5" pp. xii, 244, map, plus 24 color plates as called for, tissue guards for color plates all present, Bound in original white cloth covered boards, in very good condition, a bit darkened from age, contents very good, but there is toning of paper and some foxing on some pages. Ink gift note on front endpapers dated 1910 . Overall, very good copy. Dust jacket is present, but ca. 1/4 missing from front and chips missing elsewhere, dj paper brown from age and exposure. Fair to poor condition, but present. Dust jacket has a plastic protector on it now. This first edition was printed on better paper and has better color illustrations than some later editions. The White Cloth binding is unusual- it may be one of a limited number so bound, but this is not stated inside. due to size and weight- Note that shipping outside the USA may cost more than that of an average book.
