A complete run of the first 21 volumes of this monthly magazine, 4 months per volume, bound in publisher's blind-stamped red cloth with gilt lettering to spine, bound without wraps or any advertising, each volume with initial title and contents pages; texts clean tight and unmarked with occasional light age spotting, a few joints internally reinforced but no noticeable flaws, clearly Very Good or better and as bound by the publisher; this magazine apparently changed publisher from W. Kent & Co. [Vol. I-XIV] to Houlston & Wright [Vol. XV-XXI]. From 1867, Charlotte Riddell was co-proprietor and editor of the St. James's Magazine, which had been started in 1861 under Mrs. S. C.
