CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: Dr. Morton has added an outstanding introduction, with notes and appendix documenting the fur trade in the Saskatchewan River region. McGillivray's journal details the life at Ft. George and the rivalries of the fur companies in the region, the manner of the trade, Indian life and problems with the use of liquor on the natives.
