[ii]+234. frontispiece; cr. 8vo; blue boards, spine lettered in gilt; top edge grey; price-clipped dust wrapper, edges chipped and with several small closed tears; bookseller's sticker on upper pastedown, endpapers and title page foxed; Peter Davies, London, 1950. First edition. *Inscribed by the editor on the upper free endpaper. Patrick Hore-Ruthven served in the Rifle Brigade in WWII and later joined the SAS. He was wounded in action and died in 1943. He was a poet and avid letter writer. His poems were published in 1944 as The Happy Warrior Poems by Angus & Robertson, Sydney.
