First printing stated. About the Anglo-Spanish War, 1739-1748, fought over control of trade in the Carribean. Introduction of Horace Walpole by William Cole, Nov 15, 1782. "One more of the numberless shallops of paper this man has set afloat on the river of time, all bearing one message, one plea:"Don't forget us, we beg you!" 474 p., clean, tight and unmarked. Wine-red cloth cover has a few blemishes and corners bumped. Spine letttering is fading. Odell Shepard won a Pulitzer prize in 1938. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
