Very scarce first edition of this work in which John Campbell enumerates the importance of laymen in the spread of the gospel. First Edition. Very Scarce. Although no author is given, the work is generally attributed to 19th century Congregationalist minister John Campbell as he often referred to himself as the 'author of Jethro' in subsequent publications. Campbell founded and edited several religious magazines and journals, and has been dubbed as a kind of press baron of the Congregationalist church. In this work, Campbell enumerates how laymen can aid in the efficient running of Congregationalist churches and help spread the gospel across Britain.
