This is the prospectus for the Black Sparrow Press edition of John Fante s Ask the Dust . The novel was first published in 1939 and the Black Sparrow edition came out 40 years later in 1979. Bukowski wrote the introduction for the Black Sparrow edition, which is printed in full in the prospectus. Fante was a huge influence on Bukowski in his early years and Bukowski never stopped wondering about what happened to him after his last novel was published.
