Dark olive cloth, lettered and with front cover device in gilt. Firm binding, clean interior. Mild moisture spotting to cloth on both covers toward fore-edges, typically tanned text block edges. Mild foxing to endpapers, internally clean and unmarked. xxiv,272 pp., illus. w/ (30) hinged plates with captioned tissue guards, most color, also illus. secondary title page following frontis. (The plates of this edition are often mistakenly described as hand-colored.) Lacking dust jacket (if issued). Undated but likely ca. 1920s, definitely post-1912 (the year of the firm's relocation to Broadway House, 68-74 Carter Lane) by publisher's imprint as given. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
