Nearly fine first edition in English in the U.S., Sixth Printing stated published February 28, 1938. Two volumes bound in sharp black cloth boards, gold stamped titles to spine, decorative endpapers, quite clean and tight, printed on quality parchment paper with deep and still bright yellow topstain to text-edge, only very slight bumping to spine-ends, discreet owner name dated 1938 at top on reverse of first endpaper Vol. l, clamshell box separating at front top-edge with some fading and wear to edges and back panel. Altogether a very collectible copy of one of the greatest works of fiction in the 20th century.
