xi, 395 pp., contemporary blind-stamped cloth, slightly rubbed round edges, spine faded, occasional spotting. Scarce work. At the recommendation of James Morrier the author of ?Hajji Baba?, the writer of these journals decided to publish them. Stuart left England in 1835, he sailed to the Ionian islands and proceeded to Constantinople. Three chapters were dedicated to the Ottoman society and the relations between the Turks and the Armenians. The majority of the work is a deep analysis of the Persian and Ottoman politics of the period.
