Recent library buckram, gilt institution name to boards, red and black lettering pieces and gilt institution name to spines, endpapers renewed. Light rubbing to extremities, corners bumped, tiny paint spatters to bindings in a few places. Title page printed in red and black. Library stamps to edges, preliminaries and rear endleaves, moderate toning and occasional light foxing to text. $450. * First edition. Forbes was the first Regius Professor of Law at the University of Glasgow, also dean, from 1714 until his death, also dean of the Faculty of Law, 1732 to 1734, and the quaestor of the University Library from 1736 to 1738.
