First Edition (first printing). 4to. 85pp + liv plates. Yellow cloth lettered in black at the spine. A strip of very light browning to the free endpapers and to the half-title, and a little light spotting to the top edge. A virtually fine copy in slightly marked, nicked and spotted non-price-clipped dust wrapper, with a small sliver of loss from the head of the spine panel. The first full-length study of the pioneering photographer, fifty-four pages of text divided into two parts, 'Her Life and Environment' and 'Her Photographic Works', plus an appendix of all her literary works, a bibliography, and notes on the plates and sitters. Cameron's photographic career only spanned eleven years (1864 1875), yet her accomplishments in that period are quite remarkable. Seller Inventory # ARC92045
