Olive green cloth on boards with gilt designs to front and spine, including elephant on front, leopard on back, and jungle animals on spine, with blind stamped border designs around back, front and spine. Top edge gilt. Book is tight, square, relatively sharp-cornered and free of major flaws or markings or flaws inside and out, other than name of prior owner (Donald Newcomer Gilpin) to ffep with date of August, 1895 and some faint white marks on the rear. Book is close to Near Fine but certainly at least Very Good. First Edition, later printing, stated as Eighteen Thousandth under logo on title page. With frontispiece and additional illustrations.
