Item description from seller

8vo 253 + 201pp. from Foreword by Nelson Doubleday: "The original edition of The Jungle Book had nine illustrations by Kipling's father, John Lockwood Kipling. I believe that Aldren Watson has caught the mood of Kipling perfectly in his colorful, imaginative paintings and drawings for this new edition which combines The Jungle Book and The Second Jungle Book. I am sure that this edition will give pleasure and inspiration to thousands and thousands of new readers throughout the world." #01856. Books VG: age wear, mild scuffing to corners and edges, toning, text clean, binding tight.
