This is a UK first edition of this title published by Adam and Charles Black in 1907. The book is in Good condition overall with straight spine and frayed corners and spine ends. Note there is a split to the foot of the spine. The interior text is heavily toned / foxed throughout and at some point this was a library copy because there's evidence of stamps, etc, on the front end papers. The binding is tight and the page edges are toned. The book has 240 pages excluding adverts and 73 full page, tissue guarded plates. There is a fold out map at the back, which has foxing present. The copyright page confirms the first publication in October 1907. Seller Inventory # 016629

I charge shipping that reflects my actual costs. I do NOT offer cheap shipping and add it to the book price so please do not complain to me that Bob down the road offers cheaper postage. Sure he does - but the price of his book is hiked to reclaim it, or you're referring to a power seller who can negotiate postage discounts. I can't - I'm a private individual selling my private collection. ABE only allows me to set one postage rate so I charge the rate for hardbacks sent in a box with bubble wrap and polystyrene peanuts. Where postage is less - eg a paperback or small hardback - I refund the difference once I get my receipts and know the exact cost. ALL UK parcels are tracked. if you live outside the UK tracking is NOT provided unless you choose priority mail. PRIORITY MAIL TRACKING IS IMMEDIATELY UPDATED otherwise I will only update ABE with UK tracking details on request, and only when 10 working days has passed. There will be times when, due to the value of the book, I will insist on priority mail and this will be clearly stated in my listing. If you ignore this, your order will be refused.
