Color frontispiece and numerous internal detailed pen-and-ink scene illustrations by Douglas Relf. A boy and his friend Simon hear about King John's lost treasure in their history lessons, and go on an investigative and high-action adventure, searching for the treasure during school vacation. Sherriff is most famous for his sixteen screenplays including the Academy Award nominated Goodbye Mr. Chips, The Four Feathers, The Invisible Man, Odd Man Out, and the two BAFTA Award nominated films The Dam Busters, and The Night My Number Came Up. His most famous novel is JOURNEY'S END, based on his soldier experiences in WWI, from which he also wrote the play. This much beloved early juvenile novel is exciting reading, appropriate for home schoolers, and ripe for film adaptation. Quite Scarce.
