A Very Good first edition, first printing set of le Carré's celebrated Karla Trilogy, comprising Tinker Tailor Solider Spy (1974), The Honourable Schoolboy (1977) and Smiley's People (1980). TTSS is Very Good: firm and square binding; publisher's purple topstain, faded; toning to the edge of the page block; a handful of isolated spots/marks; short contemporary inscription to the ffep. The unclipped dustwrapper is Very Good minus: some fading to the spine (as is common); rubbing and wear to the spine tips and corners; laminate bubbles along the spine folds. The Honourable Schoolboy (publisher's variant in blue boards and with map endpapers) is Very Good: firmly bound; fading and wrinkling to the spine tips; toning to the edge of the page block; a handful of isolated spots/marks. The clipped dustwrapper is Very Good: rubbing and light wear to the extremities; two 1cm closed tears, sealed to the verso with vintage tape. Smiley's People is Very Good+: firm and square binding in blue cloth, lightly rubbed to the extremities; a trace of dustiness/marking to the edge of the page block; a few minor spots/marks. The unpriced dustwrapper is Very Good: modest fading to the spine; corner crease to the front flap and corner clips to the rear flap. The dustwrappers are presented in removable, archival-quality Brodart protective covers. All orders are sent very carefully wrapped in bubble wrap and sturdy cardboard.
