A first edition of this novel by Hugh Stowell Scott, published under his pseudonym Henry Seton Merriman. Hugh Stowell Scott (1862 or 1863 - November 19, 1903) was an English novelist. He worked with great care, and his best books held a high place in Victorian fiction. In a blue cloth binding. Externally sound, though with some rubbing to the extremities and some bumping.
