The story of Barnaby Gaunt, who after his father dies, will inherit 10 million dollars at the age of majority, is sent to a remote island to live with his uncle. He thinks his uncle is trying to kill him and tells Christie the only other child on the island and hatch a plan to kill him first. This novel is the basis for the 1966 film of the same name starring Nigel Green.
