Ex-library copy, however, with tape residue (from attaching jacket to boards), library stamps to page edges; library pocket, etc, affixed to rear free end-paper. On the other hand, no due date has ever been stamped here, and this book looks almost unread. No library markings on title page or copyright page. Bottom page edge has speckles (Doubleday remainder?) and there are two droplet(?) spots on the top edge, not visible on the pages. Library sticker on jacket at base of spine; I haven't tried to remove it. Not a perfect copy, but a little used library copy. All true first edition copies of this title are highly collectible--no doubt the highlight book of this very important author. A title one expects to increase in value.
