First edition (no additional printings). Two volume set with slipcase. Hard covers published by Little, Brown and Co. in 1957. No dust jackets. Spines have darkened some. Both volumes have an address label on inside front covers. The corners of the back cover of Vol.1 are bumped and bent some. Bottom corners for both books have some rubbing. The side page edges of Vol. 1 have a slight stain in middle, and the bottom edges have a small stain by spine. Bottom page edges of Vol. 2 have a small stain by corner. Books are in good plus condition. Slipcase has some scuffing and has some wear and tear along edges and at the corners, and is in good condition. Large 8vo, 838 pages, 4.4 lb.; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 838 pages.
