This 1973 first edition copy is sold in FINE condition in a FINE unclipped dustwrapper. Some foxing to page ends. This book is writen with modesty humour and skill, and has clearly been a labour of love. The author was himself deeply concerned with many of the issues about which he writes; he regarded Kingsley Martin with admiration and affection and yet was able to see him dispassionately. The result is a biography which is a model of its kind, a true and absorbing portrait both of a man and of an age.
