Add to basketBrown cloth spine over patterned cream cloth boards. Beige endpapers, title page printed in blue and black, and gilt titling on spine. This book is tight, square and free of any markings inside other than prior owners book plate on FFEP. Illustrated by Carol Barker, there are multiple full page, full color plates inside. Story tells of a young boy's devotion to his Ukranian grandmother as he helps her find a place in their home for her shrine to the Madonna. Missing DJ but in Near Fine or perhaps Fine condition. Rumer Godden was a poet, memoirist, an English author of more than 60 fiction and nonfiction and children's books. She was born in Sussex, Canada, but grew up in India, in Narayanganj. Many of her 60 books are set in India. Nine of her works were made into films, most notably Black Narcissus in 1947. Now protected in archival quality mylar sleeve.
