Bound in later full red straight-grain morocco, all edges gilt, marbled pastedowns and endpapers, title page printed in red and black, with engraved folding map of Arabia (Temple of Mecca inset) signed R. W. Seale, sculpt. (Richard William Seale) at page [1], three engraved genealogical plates (two folding) at pages 8-9, engraved folding plate "View of the Temple of Mecca" by A. Motte at pages 114-115. Complete. Once fine binding worn with some leather lost at crown and foot, joints peeling, both boards detached and largely worn at corners, an old inked owner signature (John Bates?) mostly rubbed out at title page, some mild toning and occasional brown spots, contents else very good throughout, clean and unmarked.
