1st edition, 1863. A Very Good copy. 4to., 760 pp., illustrated with engraved plates. Bound in half leather and marbled paper boards. moderate edge wear, and rubbing. Binding is tight, with tissue guards intact. This womens' magazine contains stories and poetry, and biographical sketches of famous men and women of American and ancient history. Published during the American Civil War, several articles are accounts of soldiers in the field, as well as Home-front accounts.
